Gulab Jamun is favourite and popular Indian dessert, prepared from milk solids which is then dipped in hot sugar syrup. This recipe is easy version of Gulab jamun made from milk powder.

INGREDIENTS:
SUGAR SYRUP:
11/2 cup sugar
11/2 cup water
2 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
GULAB JAMUN:
2 cup milk powder
2 tbsp semolina/sooji
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
5-10 tbsp warm milk
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp ghee / clarified butter
oil for frying
Method:
SUGAR SYRUP RECIPE:
1. Heat the saucepan in medium heat , add sugar , water and get to a boil.
2. Let it keep for simmer for few minutes until the sugar syrup turns slightly sticky.
3. Now add cardamom powder and lemon juice.
cover and keep aside.
GULAB JAMUN RECIPE:
1. In large bowl mix milk powder, flour and semolina(sooji).
2. Add baking soda, ghee(clarified butter) and lemon juice.
3. Crumble it well. Now add milk slowly and knead well to a soft dough.
4. Grease hands with ghee(clarified butter) and make small balls(make sure there are no cracks on balls to prevent them from breaking while frying )
5. Heat the oil in frying pan , when it is medium hot fry the jamuns,
6. Keep frying the jamuns until it turns golden brown(keep it low flame)
7. Once it is done , directly drop the hot jamuns into hot sugar syrup.
8. Cover the lid and rest for 2 hours.
9. Jamuns are double by size now and ready to serve.
